भारत में सोने और चांदी के भाव दैनिक आधार पर बदलते हैं, जो विभिन्न राज्यों और शहरों में भिन्न हो सकते हैं।
नीचे राजस्थान, गुजरात, और महाराष्ट्र के प्रमुख शहरों में आज के सोने और चांदी के भाव (24 कैरेट, प्रति ग्राम) प्रस्तुत हैं:

उदाहरण के लिए, अमेरिका में सोने का मूल्य $90.00 प्रति ग्राम है, जो भारतीय रुपये में लगभग ₹7,495.00 के बराबर है।
इसी प्रकार, मलेशिया और फिलीपींस में भी सोने के मूल्य क्रमशः MYR 388.91 (₹7,455.23) और PHP 5,091.47 (₹7,377.37) प्रति ग्राम हैं।
भारत में सोने के आयात पर निम्नलिखित कर और शुल्क लागू होते हैं:

1. आयात शुल्क: जुलाई 2024 में, सोने पर आयात शुल्क 15% से घटाकर 6% कर दिया गया, ।
ताकि तस्करी पर रोक लगाई जा सके और मांग को बढ़ावा दिया जा सके।
2. जीएसटी (GST): सोने के मूल्य पर 3% जीएसटी लागू होता है।
3. मेकिंग चार्ज पर टैक्स: मेकिंग चार्ज पर 5% जीएसटी लागू होता है।

व्यक्तिगत आयात की सीमा के संबंध में, भारत सरकार ने निम्नलिखित नियम निर्धारित किए हैं:
पुरुष यात्री: विदेश से लौटते समय, पुरुष यात्री अधिकतम 20 ग्राम सोना (आभूषण के रूप में) ला सकते हैं, ।
जिसकी अधिकतम मूल्य सीमा ₹50,000 है, बिना किसी सीमा शुल्क के।
महिला यात्री: महिला यात्री अधिकतम 40 ग्राम सोना (आभूषण के रूप में) ला सकती हैं।
जिसकी अधिकतम मूल्य सीमा ₹1,00,000 है, बिना किसी सीमा शुल्क के।
यदि सोने की मात्रा या मूल्य उपरोक्त सीमाओं से अधिक है, तो अतिरिक्त मात्रा पर निर्धारित आयात शुल्क (6%) और अन्य कर लागू होंगे।
